Career
He has, at various times, been Senior Vice President of the International Business Machines Corporation Corporation and Executive Director of Research. While at International Business Machines Corporation, he initiated the project to develop Watson, the computer that competed successfully in the quiz show Jeopardy!. He is currently a New York University (New York University) Distinguished Scientist in Residence and New York University Stern Executive in Residence.
He is also a professor at Polytechnic Institute of New York University.In 2009, he was appointed as the Senior Vice Provost for Research at New York University. In 2005, Horn was the recipient of the Industrial Research Institute (International Republican Institute) Medal in honor of his contributions to technology leadership.
