Career
On June 8, 2008, the church"s First Presidency announced that Johnson would succeed West. Rolfe Kerr as the Commissioner of Church Education, effective August 1, 2008. He served in this capacity until August 1, 2015, when he was succeeded by Kim B. Clark, and Johnson became first counselor in the presidency of the church"s Europe Area.
Membership
Johnson became a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy on April 2, 2005 after serving as an area seventy in the Fifth Quorum of the Seventy since June 2003.
