Born and raised in Dublin, Redmond began training in mixed martial arts in 2008 and began competing as an amateur in 2009. After turning professional in 2010, he fought under various promotions, most notably Cage Warriors Fighting Championships, and compiled a record of 10-4 before signing with the UFC in early 2015.
Ultimate Fighting Championship
Redmond made his promotional debut on January 24, 2015 at UFC on Fox 14, stepping in for injured Alan Omer against Mirsad Bektic.
He came into the bout over weight and as a result, had to forfeit a percentage of his fight purse. He lost the one-sided fight via unanimous decision.
Redmond next faced Robert Whiteford on July 18, 2015 at UFC Fight Night 72. He lost the fight via knockout in the first round.
