Assistant general manager Hotel des Mille Collines, Kigali, Rwanda, 1984—1993. General manager Hôtel des Diplomates, Rwanda, 1993. His humanitarian work during the Rwandan genocide is documented in the 2004 film Hotel Rwanda.

He is played by Don Cheadle.
