He attended Heany Park Primary School and Caulfield Grammar School in Melbourne and played junior football for the Rowville Football Club.
He was recruited by Collingwood in the 2010 national draft, with pick 76. Seedsman made his debut in round 1 2012, against Hawthorn. Seedsman"s great-grandfather, Jim Sharp, played for Fitzroy and Collingwood, and was also president of Collingwood for 12 years.
After a promising 2013 season, Seedsman missed the first 10 games of 2014 due to hip surgery.
He returned in round 11 playing 8 straight games, before succumbing to an adductor injury that would keep him out until round 23. In October 2015, he requested a trade to the Adelaide Football Club citing more opportunity to play.
He was officially traded to Adelaide on 19 October. Seedsman plays primarily on the half-back flank and occasionally spends time in the midfield.
During the 2013 season, Seedsman was at the heart of a fallout between Harry O"Brien and coach Nathan Buckley.
O"Brien reportedly took issue with his teammates calling Seedsman "Lez", a reference to Seedsman"s haircut which resembles that of a stereotypical lesbian woman.
