Ordained to the ministry of Baptist Church, 1906. Pastor, Three Rivers, Massachusetts, 1910-1911, St. Charles, Missouri, 1911-1915, Poplar Bluff, Missouri, 1915-1920, First Baptist Church, Jefferson City, Missoury, 1920-1940. Superintendent St. Louis Baptist Mission Board since 1940.

State member Home mission Board, Southern Baptist Convention Trustee William Jewell College. Director Kansas City Baptist Theological Seminary Moderator Missouri Baptist General Association, 1936-1938. Missouri leader of the Baptist Hundred Thousand Club.
