Government stenographer, Manila, Philippine Islands, 1914-1915. Law clerk and stenographer, County of Los Angeles, 1915-1917. Appointed American vice consul, Valencia, Spain, August 1917, then at Tampico, Corunna, Barcelona, Spain.

Resigned 1921.

With district attorney, Los Angeles County, 1923-1924. Re-appointed American vice consul, Cherbourg, France, August 1925. Then successively at Tananarive, Madagascar, Paris, Plymouth (England), Ponta Delgada, Azores, Milan, Italy.

Vice consul, Hull, 1935, London 1939-1940, Dublin, Ireland, 1941-1947, Algiers, 1947-1949, Montreal since 1949.
