Commander battalion, 20th Infantry, 27th Infantry, 18th Infantry. Executive officer, 18th Infantry, 1936, general staff, G-3, 6th C.A., 1936-1940. Commander 41st Armored Infantry, 1941.

Combat commander A., 2nd Armored Division, 1942. Commander 10th Armored Division, since 1942. Organized and trained 41st Armored Infantry, 1941-1942, 10th Armored Division, 1942-1943.

Distinguished pistol shot. Nat. junior saber champion, 1919.
