Father was Portuguese, from the Azor islands. Mother was French and Polish from upper state New York.
Paula was born on June 7, 1963 in Palo Alto, California, United States. Paula raised by single mother of three girls, all born in June. Father died in 1973, at the age of 29, from lung cancer. Mothers family, very well educated, from upper state New York, United States brought to California by the transportation evolution of the train. Fathers family 100% Portuguese from Azor Island, immigrated to Massachusettes, United States owning and operating a bakery and then onto Santa Clara, California. Marcia Rose Evans and William Peter Santos were high school sweethearts that married. Producing together French Portugues Power Females, Paula, Marcy, and Christina.
Education
Paula educated in Catholic schools til eighth grade. The Catholic Nuns were a huge influence in Paula’s upbringing. So in a nutshell, Paula was raised in a houseful of females only and educated by very dominating females, Catholic Nuns. Paula was very competitive, unaware of social ranking in regards to males.
Bay Area Catholic Schools. Saint Joseph’s of Cupertino, Saint Cyprian’s of Sunnyvale and Saint Simon’s of Los Altos. No high school education, no one noticed. Maybe 1 year of junior colleges and various certification programs. Grandfather was the only male influence and he taught Paula that college did not make you successful, that you made you successful, Catholic Nuns taught Paula that if the President of the United States could do it, so could You. There is no difference between each other, just know how, practice and determination. Old fashion values, kindness, and Catholic guilt. One pair of rose-colored glasses.
