Wounded and taken prisoner in the battle for East Prussia, 1914. Escaped to Holland. Head of the Russian Military Mission with the Russian Embassy in Paris, 1921.
Founded a youth organization for Russian exiles, NORR (monarchist scouts). After World War II, moved to Argentina, 1948. Managed a large hacienda in the mountains.
After a serious illness moved to Buenos Aires where he taught languages, and wrote historical novels and a valuable description of the East Prussia campaign, 1914.
