1897 graduate Moscow Dental Surgery School. Studied at Berlin Dental Surgery Institute. Studied in Saint St. Petersburg.
1888-1893 teacher; 1888-1897 member of student Marxist circles in Department, Saint St. Petersburg and Moscow. Founded Social-Democratic circles in Latin From 1897 dental surgeon in Moscow and active in revol work.
1905-1907 member, lit lecturers’ group of Moscow Russian Social-Democratic Workers’ Party Committee. Contributed to Bolshevik newspaper Svetocli. 1905-1906 attended congresses of Latin Social-Democratic Workers’ Party.
1907 — 12 engaged in lit and publishing work, translated into Russian and published works by F. Engels, for which he was arraigned. 1917 fought with Red Guards in Moscow. From December 1917 Soviet Latin People's Commissar of Education.
1918-1919 Collegium member, Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic People's Commissariat of Health. 1928-1933 professor, Moscow Odontological and Stomatological Institute. Wrote many works on stomatology and public health, soc sci and history' of revol movement in Latin
