He was an advocate of rationalism and Josephinism, author of numerous iconostases and portraits (the most famed perhaps being that of turbaned prince Miloš), painter of the iconostasis for the Church of Street John in 1809, and the portraitist of the works Justinijan Jovanović (1820), Avram Konjović (1822) and young Vuk Karadžić (1816).
