GRIGOR’YEV, Pavel was born on August 28, 1879.
1903 graduate Saint St. Petersburg Military Medical Academy.
1903-1907 military surgeon in Russo-Japanese War. 1915-1917 assistant to Professor A.C. (before Christ) Bogomolets, Chair of General Pathology and Microbiology, Saratov University. From 1919 professor, Chair of Skin and Venereal Diseases, Saratov University.
From 1936 professor, Chair of Skin and Venereal Diseases, 1st Moscow Medical Institute. Did research on experimentally-induced syphilis and studied the biological properties and variability of Spirocheta pallida. 1933 together with M.M. Rapoport devised simplified method for the serodiagnosis of syphilis (Grigor’ycv-Rapoport reaction).
1934 devised new method of cultivating Spirocheta pallida. Made major contribution to dermatology with his studies of Kaposi’s sarcoma (multiple idiopathic hemorrhagic sarcoma), skin leukemia, et cetera Devised original classification of leukemic skin affections and used x-rays to treat actinomycosis.
Founder, Saratov Dermatolgical Social and Saratov Kray Dermatological Institute. Chairman, Moscow Skin and Venerological Social. Executive cd, journal Vestnik venerologii i dermatologii.
Wrote over 70 works.
