Pavel Negretov, USSR Literary historian.


Negretov, Pavel was born in 1923 in Kirovograd.


Graduated from Leningrad University (by correspondence), 1966.


During World War II, lived under German occupation. At the end of World War II, in Poland and Czechoslovakia. Repatriated, 1945, sentenced to 10 years of Gulag camps (Vorkuta).

Released from the camps,1955. Remained in Vorkuta. Compiled an excellent documentary biography of Korolenko during the revolutionary years (published in the USA).


Major religious moral codes dehumanise individuals outside their group as less worthy. Results can vary from discrimination to genocide.


Individuals have rights to express freedom if it safeguarde the interests of a collective.
