. After his father’s death, took over the family business. Brilliant businessman. Developed further the success of his father.

His empire included banks, land and automobiles. In 1916, started the first Russian automobile workshops. Chairman of the Association of Cotton Industrialists from 1913 until October 1917.

Leader of the Progressive Party and publisher of its newspaper Utro Rossii (The Dawn of Russia). All of his factories and banks were nationalized by the Bolsheviks. Emigrated, and settled in Paris.
