1914-1918 studied at I.I. Mashkov’s private studio in Moscow. 1922 graduate Higher Technical Art Workshops.
From 1921 displayed his work in the “World of Art” and “Existence” exhibitions. From 1922 illustrator and cartoonist for newspaper “Batrak” and other periodicals. 1922-1925 member, “Existence” Association.
From 1946 member, Association of Artists of Revol Russia. During World War 2 painted some 100 political posters for and helped direct “Tass Windows” organisation. 1957 director, Exhibition of Fine and Applied Art, Moscow.
Member, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Academy of Arts from 1949. Communist Party member from 1952.
