Pavel Alexandrovich Zurabian was an architect, designed a number of buildings in Tiflis (Aramiants'), in Abastuman, Borjomi, Gagri.

Background

He was born on February 8, 1871 in Shushi. His father was a lieutenant colonel.

Education

In 1898 he graduated from Saint-Petersburg Institute of Civil Engineering.

Career

He served as an engineer in Tiflis. In 1899-1917, he was a regional architect of Tiflisian municipal government. Chief engineer of the Union of Georgian towns (1917-1919). Chief engineer of the Administration for balneology of Georgia (since 1920).

He participated in designing a number of famous buildings in Tiflis (the Nersisian School, the Alexander hospital, synagogue, etc.) In post-revolution period, he contributed to the development of the system of balneological establishments. Chief engineer of the Administration for balneology of the Georgian Ministry of Health.

He designed at least 30 dwelling and revenue houses in typical for that time eclectic style for Armenian upper bourgeoisie.
