Until 1884, Pavel Matveevich performed under the name Matyushin. In 1871- 1884 he worked in the theaters of Samara, Simbirsk, Tambov, Orel, Kazan, Saratov, Moscow. In the years 1872-1875 he repeatedly toured the city of Voronezh.
