Career

He competed in the 200 m and 4×400 m relay events at the 1956 and 1960 Summer Olympics, but failed to reach the finals. Between 1956 and 1962, Rekola took part in 29 international competitions. Rekola was a firefighter.

Achievements

• Domestically, he won the 100 m title in 1956–1958 and 1961, the 200 m and 400 m titles in 1959, the 4×100 m relay in 1957 and 1959, and 4×400 m relay in 1956–1963. His son Harri was the national champion in the 4×100 m relay in 1989.
