1st class in Classical Moderations, 1878.
1st class in Final Classical School. Master of Arts.
Elected Fellow of New College, 1881. Assistant-master at Fettes College, 1881-1882. Assisted in classical teaching at Balliol and University Colleges.
Editor of Oxford Magazine.
1883-1884; Lecturer of New College 1883. Dean, 18S9 -1903; secretary to the Delegacy for the Inspection and Examination of Schools, 1887.
Governor of the Royal Holloway College, 1895. Senior Proctor, 1895-1896.
Member of the Hebdomadal Council, 1897.
Delegate of Local Examinations, of the University Press, and for the Training of Secondary Teachers. Guardian of the Poor, 1888-1905. Fellow and Tutor since 18S9, and Dean of Arts since 1903, of New College, Oxford.
