Professor of Chemistry, University College Dundee, 1888-1894. And in the Mason College, Birmingham, 1894-1900. Inaugurated monthly systematic bacteriological examinations of London Water-Supply for Local Government Board, 1885.
President of Chemistry and Biology Section of Sanitary Congress, Southampton, 1899. President of Chemical Section, British Association, Glasgow, 1901. President of Chemical and Biology Section, Royal Institute of Public Health Congress, Eastbourne, 1901.
