From 1898 worked for Records Office, State Council. From 1899 worked for various organs of Academy of Sciences. 1919-1928 senior Custodian, Pushkin Center (now the Institute of Russian Literature, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Academy of Sciences).
1896 first work published helped found Pushkin Center: 1900-1918 coauthor, “Russkiy biograficheskiy slovar’” (Russian Biographical Dictionary). 1903-1928 virtual cd, “Pushkin i yego sovremenniki (Pushkin and His Contemporaries). Traced, annotated and published many valuable lit and historical documents: works and letters of Pushkin.
