Career
She became a titled player at the 2010 World Youth Championship in Porto Carras, where she shared 1st–2nd place, taking the silver medal on tiebreak, in the under-10 girls" division and earned the Woman FIDE Master (WFM) title. In 2011, she was awarded the Woman International Master (WIM) title as a result of her joint first place at the U20 girls" division of the 12th Association of Southeast Asian Nations+ Age Group Championships held in Tarakan, Indonesia. Abdumalik played for the Kazakhstani national team in the Women"s Chess Olympiad of 2014, and in the Women"s World Team Chess Championships of 2013 and 2015.
In January 2014, Anatoly Karpov visited Almaty to open the newly established Zhansaya Abdumalik Chess Academy.
Karpov and Abdumalik also played a four-game match after the ceremony.
