Background
Loubon was born in Aix. The son of a wealthy merchant, Loubon was fortunate to have parents who encouraged his artistic pursuits and he studied under Louis Mathurin Clérian at the École de dessin d"Aix-en-Provence, as well as Jean-Antoine Constantin and François Marius Granet.
