Career
He was one of the leaders of the Democratic Opposition of Serbia in the Bulldozer Revolution in October 2000. Previous to his political career, he was a professional soldier becoming the youngest General in the Yugoslav National Army. He resigned from the Army in May 1992 when the Government refused to withdraw Yugoslav Army conscripts from fighting in Croatia.
He stood as a candidate in 1997 Yugoslav presidential elections winning 3% of the popular vote.
In 2000 he joined the Democratic Opposition of Serbia which finally toppled Slobodan Milošević in October 2000. He became the Deputy Prime Minister in the Government of Serbia tasked with leading the drive against corruption.
In 2002 he again stood in presidential elections, but this time only winning 0.75% of the popular vote.
