Wahid Solh was born in 1901 in Saida, Lebanon. He was a relative of former Lebanese prime ministers Riad Solh, Sami Solh, Takieddine Solh and Rachid Solh. They had five children: Samir, Najla, Salim, Sana and Nassib.
