Career
Inoguchi held various commands within the Imperial Japanese Navy and had a reputation as its best gunnery theorist. During the Battle of Sibuyan Sea, Musashi was attacked by staggering American air bombers and was sunk. Inoguchi was wounded, and chose to go down with the ship.
