Career
She was the first graduate of the University of Queensland Law school in Queensland of either gender. She was also the first woman admitted to the bar in Queensland, the first Woman prosecutor for the Australian Commonwealth Crown Solicitor and the first female librarian of the University of Queensland Law Library. Her enrolment at university was opposed by the Dean, and initially she encountered considerable opposition to her employment.
She died in 1986 and a prize is today awarded in her memory.
