Starkie was an Office-break Bowler, and in his 95 games that stretched from 1951-1956 he bowled 13547 deliveries for 5685 runs, 604 Maidens, and 166 Wickets. The record still stands today. As was common at the time, Sydney Starkie was a one-club player, and he was rewarded for his service.
