Career
He was first elected to Dáil Éireann at the 1918 general election as a Sinn Féin Teachta Dála for Tipperary Middle Burke served in the governments of West. T. Cosgrave in the 1920s. He lost his seat at the 1938 general election and after unsuccessfully standing again as an independent at the 1943 general election, he retired from politics and moved to England.
He was also a Barrister-at-Law.
