Tamaryn Payne was born in Lancashire, and grew up in Bournemouth, attending the girls grammar school Bournemouth School for Girls.

She then studied a BTEC at Bournemouth and Poole College before studying for a Bachelor degree in acting at the Arts Educational Schools, London, graduating in 2010.
In 2010 Payne appeared in the short film I Luv Matt Johnson where she played Zoe. On 28 September 2011 she joined the main cast of the British soap Hollyoaks where she played Annalise Appleton, 1 February – 18 February 2013 after her character decides to move to London after getting a job there. That same year she played "Emmie" in the short film Atmospheric.
In 2012 she appeared in the thriller Stalled where she played a character who gave birth to Evie.
