He began playing football in local club Lelle and was noticed by Flora Tallinn, one of the major clubs in Estonia. He did not manage to get into the first team and decided to move from Flora Tallinn to Kuressaare. He then moved to TVMK Tallinn in 2004.
In the 2005 season, for TVMK Tallinn, he scored 41 goals in 33 games, which put him in 12th place in the ESM Golden Shoe.
In the previous season, he scored 13 goals in 25 games for his club He soon moved back to TVMK Tallinn though on a short loan spell to gain match practice.
At the start of the 2007 Allsvenskan season, he was again loaned out to Superettan club GIF Sundsvall. In February 2008, he signed a two-year contract with Finnish Veikkausliiga club MYPA. On 1 January 2009 joined to Belgian club Zulte Waregem, with teammate Eetu Muinonen, but he was often a substitute being a part of the starting eleven just twice.
On 31 July 2009, Zulte Waregem officials released the Estonian forward by mutual consent, he returned to Levadia Tallinn.
He finished the season as the club"s top league goalscorer with 22 goals in 32 matches. Foreign Estonia, Neemelo is capped 22 times, scoring 1 goal. He debuted internationally on 20 April 2005 against Norway in a friendly match.
He scored his first and only goal on 28 May 2006 against Turkey also in a friendly match.
He plays the position of striker and is also a member of the Estonia national football team
