She was the first Mission Wisconsin delegate to hold the Mission America title. In high school, Meeuwsen was selected homecoming queen, and was also a cheerleader for three years. Following her reign as Mission America, Meeuwsen began television work at WTMJ-television in Milwaukee in 1978, leaving the station in 1986 to raise her family.
Since 2000, she has co-hosted the Christian Broadcasting Network show, Living the Life, with comedian Louise DuArt.
Both shows air on American Broadcasting Company Family. On September 12, 1995, Meeuwsen released the inspirational popular recording, Eyes of My Heart.
