Theo Von is an American stand-up comedian, television personality, host, and actor.
Background
Theo Von was born Theodor Capitani von Kurnatowski, in Covington, Louisiana, the son of Gina Capitani and the late Roland von Kurnatowski Senior He has an older brother who is an arborist and two younger sisters, all of whom currently reside in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Career
Road Rules Von first gained fame during his college days on Road Rules: Maximum Velocity Tour. He later reappeared on the Road Rules spin-off, Real World/Road Rules Challenge, competing in Battle of the Seasons, The Gauntlet, Battle of the Sexes 2 and Fresh Meat. Comedy and Hosting In 2006, Von appeared on season 4 of National Broadcasting Company"s Last Comic Standing, winning the title of Last Comic Downloaded.
In the summer of 2008, Von was cast in Comedy Central"s Reality Bites Back, a one-season series where a cast of comedians improvise their way through faux reality show episodes.
Also cast were Donnell Rawlings, Bert Kreischer, Amy Schumer, Mo Mandel and Chris Fairbanks. The series was hosted by Michael Ian Black.
That same year, Von was a panelist on America"s Prom Queen and appeared on season 3 of Live at Gotham. In 2009, Von created "crank texting" (sending a text message to random phone numbers to incite conversations), and began his crank texting blog, www.cranktexts.com, which was picked up as a column by CollegeHumor a year later.
In 2012 Von became the host of Yahoo"s television recap show, Primetime in Number Time, the most watched daily show on the internet, replacing former host Frank Nicotero.
In June 2012, Von"s episode of The Half Hour premiered on Comedy Central, and he acted in his first film, InAPPropriate Comedy, which hit theaters in March 2013. In the summer of 2013, Von hosted the new Turner Broadcasting System hidden camera show Deal With lieutenant, executive produced by Howie Mandel. The show was picked up for its 2nd season in early 2014, and finished its 32 episode run in early 2015.
Von has also been seen on The Arsenio Hall Show, Hello Ross, Chelsea Lately and Watch What Happens Live.
His first one-hour comedy special "Number Offense" was released on Netflix February 26, 2016 where he revealed in his younger days he used to work at a door store.
