Career
He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2000 National Hockey League Entry Draft, selected 248th overall. Crampton started his professional career with the Wheeling Nailers, the Pittsburgh Penguins" ECHL affiliate, in 2002. He remained with the team until 2005 when the Penguins chose not to re-sign him.
Crampton spent the next two seasons with the Las Vegas Wranglers, and was recalled by several AHL teams during his tenure with the Wranglers.
After leaving the Wranglers in 2007, he played in several leagues in Europe. Crampton spent the next three seasons playing hockey in Denmark, Germany, and Italy before returning to the United States in 2010.
