His former clubs include RNK Split, Football Club Spartak Trnava, NK Pula, NK Korotan, NK Kamen Ingrad and PFC CSKA Sofia. He has played in the Croatian Prva HNL with NK Istra, NK Zagreb and NK Rijeka. Jakirović has made five appearances for the full Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team
