He is known for his single "Gas Pedal" featuring Iamsu!, produced by Sage the Gemini. "Gas Pedal" peaked at number 29 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it Sage"s first top 40 hit. lieutenant also reached number six on the Hot Rhythm & Blues/Hip-Hop Songs and number four on the Hot Rap Songs charts in 2013.
Sage"s song "Red Nose", which he produced himself, peaked at number 54 on the Hot 100 and at number 12 on the Hot Rhythm & Blues Hip-Hop Songs.
Both songs were taken from his debut European Parliament Gas Pedal, which peaked at number 29 on the Rhythm & Blues/Hip-Hop Albums chart. He signed to Republic Records in August 2013.
His debut studio album Remember Maine was released on March 25, 2014. He has released the singles "Guantanamera" and "Good Thing" in May 2015 from his album Bachelor Party, planned for release in 2016.
Sage the Gemini was born in either Fairfield, California, or San Francisco, California.
The first track he recorded, at 14, was titled "Made In China". Woods took the name Sage the Gemini due to the color of his eyes and his zodiac sign. In 2008, Sage released his first single, "You Should Know" on MySpace.
