Sangita Patel’s career path has been interesting and unique! After working for a few years as an engineer and obtaining her P. Engineer designation, her career path took a sharp turn! Volunteer positions in various media outlets eventually led to a position as a weather presenter on The Weather Network – providing her with the opportunity to combine her passions for television and science. Her transition continued after she accepted a position as the weekend weather anchor on CityNews. She branched into entertainment and lifestyle when she began filing segments for her very own segment on CityNews called In The City.
Her exposure grew as she became a regular fill-in on Breakfast Television for both the Weather and Live Eye segments.
The next transformation occurred when Sangita joined Canada’s number one Entertainment show, ET Canada Entertainment Tonight Canada. Initially brought on as a co-host during Cheryl Hickey maternity leave, Sangita has stayed on, rubbing shoulders with the biggest stars in the world such as George Clooney, Tom Cruise, Julia Roberts and Helen Mirren.
And she ventured into acting with her debut as a Reporter on The Strain (television series) Season 2 (Episode 10)
Sangita has also been featured on ET Canada"s beauty campaign with Shoppers Drug Mart in 2015. She was part of the holiday season campaign for President"s Choice Insiders Collection aired on the Food Network in December 2015.
Sangita was also featured in L"Oréal’s launch of their Extraordinary Oils hair line on their digital platform.
Sangita is extremely passionate about fitness and loves to motivate others That led her to start #FitnessTuesday on her social media outlets, where she posts her popular workout videos. She has also created an ET Canada fitness web series.
As a mother of two girls, ages 5 and 8, she has a strong belief in education.
Her charitable work reflects this passion, and includes work with charitable foundations such as Pathways to Education. Her passion includes travel, crossfit, volleyball, throwing a football and being a mom to her two girls Ava and Shyla.
