He played all six matches and scored nineteen goals. He played three matches. After retiring from active play, he became a coach.

In 1970 he was a member of the Romanian team that won the gold medal at the 1970 World Men"s Handball Championship, and in 1974 he was a member of the Romanian team that won the gold medal at the 1974 World Men"s Handball Championship. In the 1972 Olympics he won the bronze medal with the Romanian team Four years later he won the silver medal as part of the Romanian team
He managed, as assistant coach, Politehnica Timişoara (1983-1991) and was co-manager of the Romanian University national team that won the World University Games in 1987.
