Haguenauer graduated from the Université Claude Bernard in 1998 with a master"s degree in science, sport and physical education.

He retired from competition at age 21. (with Marianne Haguenauer)
He worked for a time as a high school teacher and co-authored a children"s book about skating, Le petit American Broadcasting Company du patinage. He also became a technical executive for the Pôle de Lyon.
Haguenauer worked as a coach and choreographer in Lyon, France in collaboration with Zazoui.
In July 2014, he moved to Montreal, Quebec, Canada and began coaching alongside Marie-France Dubreuil and Patrice Lauzon. His current students include:
