He is also a music teacher. In 1962 he joined the George Shearing Quintet for 2 years, rejoined the group also later in 1971 until 1975. In 1965, he moved to Los Angeles where he started doing television and session work in addition to a lot of jazz club dates with various groups including his own group the Ron Anthony Quintette.
He also worked with Frank Sinatra from 1986 to 1995 playing live on Sinatra"s album Duets I & World War II Since then, he has been freelancing around the world with his own group the Ron Anthony Quintette, teaching and recording albums.
In 1955 I became a member of the 7th Army Jazz Band in Stuttgart, Germany.
