Career

During his club career, Van der Gijp played for Sparta Rotterdam, PSV, KSC Lokeren, Neuchâtel Xamax, Football Club Aarau and South Carolina Heerenveen. He also made 15 appearances for the Netherlands national team, scoring 2 goals. After his football career, Van der Gijp became known as a television pundit for Dutch football talk show Voetbal International, broadcast by RTL.
