Career
Geran was the first player from the United States to make the National Hockey League, starting with the Montreal Wanderers in the National Hockey League"s inaugural season, 1917-1918. He played in four of the Wanderers" six games. After the fire that burned down the Wanderers" arena, the team was disbanded.
In spite of this professional obstacle, he was nevertheless allowed to play in the Olympic Games.
Geran didn"t play in the National Hockey League again until he suited up for the Boston Bruins for 33 games in 1925-1926. In 37 career National Hockey League games, he scored 5 goals and six points.
Upon his retirement from the National Hockey League, he was the last active player from the Wanderers roster.
