Princess Louise of Denmark was a Danish princess, the third child and oldest daughter of Frederick VIII of Denmark and his wife, Princess Louise of Sweden and Norway.
Background
Princess Louise was born at Amalienborg Palace in Copenhagen on 17 February 1875. Her father was Crown Prince Frederick of Denmark, later King Frederick VIII. Her mother was Louise of Sweden, daughter of Charles XV, King of Sweden and Norway.
Career
Princess Louise died at Ratiboritz Castle on 4 April 1906. She and her father-in-law Prince William of Schaumburg-Lippe died five hours apart at the family castle in Nachod, Bohemia. Frederick and Louise had three children: Prince Friedrich died in a riding accident after a fall from his horse. HSH Princess Stephanie Alexandra Hermine Thyra Xenia Bathildis Ingeborg of Schaumburg-Lippe (19 December 1899 – 2 May 1925).
Stephanie died in childbirth with twin boys. Both boys died on 2 May 1925, one stillborn, the other living only a few hours.
