Career
Urraca, who was widowed following a brief marriage while in her twenties, travelled to Naples often and was much loved by its people. She was received by the Neapolitan nobility and the city"s poor appreciated Urraca"s kindness. She also travelled regularly to Rome, where she frequently stayed with the Lancelloti princely family.
Urraca"s niece placed her in a nursing home for the elderly in Sigmaringen where she spent the last 18 months of her life.
Urraca wished to have her remains cremated and placed in the church of the Neapolitan Bourbons at Santa Chiara in Naples, however, the Head of the House of Bourbon-Two Sicilies Prince Ferdinand, Duke of Castro refused to honor her wishes as he intended to reserve space for his immediate family"s remains.
