Professional
Roberts signed his first team contract on April 10, 2012 becoming the seventh TFC Academy graduate to the senior team He made his first appearance for Toronto as a second half sub for Freddy Hall during a friendly against Liverpool on July 21, 2012. after playing in their academy system in previous years. He made his debut for Wilmington on the season opener April 5 against Harrisburg City Islanders, the game ended in a 0–0 draw. Roberts joined Toronto Football Club II on loan on March 20, 2015.
He made his debut against Whitecaps Football Club 2 on April 19.
Youth
Roberts was a part of Canada"s U17 soccer team, making his debut in the 2011 Fédération internationale de football association U-17 World Cup. He went into the tournament as the second goalkeeper, but due to an injury, he played the second group stage game against England where he earned international fame for scoring a goal from his own half in a 2–2 draw.
He is the only goalkeeper to score in a Fédération internationale de football association finals to date. Roberts was named to the 2015 CONCACAF Men"s Olympic Qualifying Championship team on September 18, 2015.
Senior
After participating in numerous camps with the senior team under Benito Floro, Roberts made his full senior debut against Puerto Rico as a substitute for Milan Borjan on March 30, 2015.
