When he was a child, he learned to play the piano. At fifteen he played guitar in a group of Komety. Since the second half of 1960, is considered one of the best Czechoslovakian guitarists.
He was awarded as the best guitarist of a rock beat personality.
Hladík and Mišík in 1968 Established Blue Effect. After Mišík left the group, he became the leader of the Blue Effect group.
In 1979 Hladík with singer Leškem Semelkou and drummer Vlado Čech recorded the winning song of the Bratislavská lyra - Šaty z šátků.
He was member of The Matadors with his friend Vladimír Mišík.
