After falling sick one morning Adam Smith AKA Franky Fryer stepped in to present the show. Rushden is now on Fantasy Football Club on Sky Sports. Rushden presented the breakfast show on British Broadcasting Corporation London 94.9 from December 2006 - March 2008.
He has also presented on TalkSport, British Broadcasting Corporation Radio 5 Live and substituted for James Richardson on the Guardian"s Football Weekly podcast since 2010.
On 1 May 2010, Rushden competed in charity football match at Old Trafford. He did feature in Dion Dublin"s legends game at the Abbey Stadium on 27 April 2009.
He played alongside Cambridge United heroes including. Andy Fensome, Liam Daish, John Taylor and Lee Philpott.
Rushden started on the bench but came on after 20 minutes for Liam Daish, telling Dion Dublin to go to and play at centre-back whilst he wandered up front.
He did very little in truth, but was heavily involved in two of the goals. He also had a header rebound off the Barometer Rushden failed to score the goal at the Abbey Stadium that he would have dreamed about as a kid, growing up as a supporter of Cambridge United.
