Career
During his playing career, McLean represented several clubs, including Celtic, Preston North End, Sheffield Wednesday, Rangers, Bradford Park Avenue, Dundee and three spells at Forfar Athletic. He is best known however for his years with Celtic from 1907 until 1909. He received one international cap for Scotland, in a 1912 British Home Championship match against England.
He died in December 1967.
He is not to be confused with another David McLean, who managed Bristol Rovers, East Fife and Hearts.
