He is the younger brother of fellow tennis player Elias Ymer. Ymer has a career high Association of Tennis Professionals singles ranking of World Number. Ymer made his first junior major final at 2015 Wimbledon, where he lost to Reilly Opelka in straight sets.
Ymer also managed to claim his second European Championships title 2015 (U18), beating Bernabe Zapata Miralles in the final in straight sets.
